  This week I had Matt, at MounTN Home Inspection, come out and inspect a house that I had made an offer on. I was at the house while he did the inspection and somewhat shadowed him as he went through the house. He was super thorough and systematic. He inspected everything from the crawl space to the attic and outside roof - including the exterior of the house. He answered some questions I had regarding the HVAC in this particular house and explained the drainage system which I was unfamiliar with. He very clearly knows his work. Having owned several houses and having renovated a couple, I know my way around somewhat, but Matt noted a number of items that I would have completely missed. Also, communication before, during, and after the inspection was prompt, responsive, and clear. He published the written report promptly and it was comprehensive. The report included clear photos and both general and issue-specific comments. Very nice. I would rank Matt at MounTN Home Inspections as the best of the several home inspectors that I've hired over the years. Some were a complete waste of money, but I consider the money I spent with MounTN Home Inspections money well spent and a good investment. Highly recommended.

  Edit and update. Wow. You need to study up on defamation. My review is in no way deceptive or petty nor did I claim to be a “victim”. Everything I said was true. My review was posted, not out of frustration, but as a service to anyone else who contracts your services. You used old photos on a “new” inspection. Those photos included the “recommendations” for maintenance which were completed, yet you used photos and descriptions from your first inspection. If anyone is interested in knowing more I’m willing to show them both inspections. Maybe the Tn licensing board would be interested. Perhaps better to learn from your “mistake” than challenge an honest review which can be proven via your own documents. If you were a true professional you wouldn’t try to defend your fraudulent inspection report. You’re slick (telling us in person what a wonderful renovation on our 125 yo home) maybe not so honest though. Buyers, sellers, and realtors beware. As sellers, Matt inspected our home twice, the first time in June 2024, the second time in December 2024. His first inspection came with multiple (75 pages) maintenance “suggestions “ and only one item that didn’t pass. The sale did not proceed. In December, after we had completed 95% of the maintenance “suggestions “ , Matt again inspected our home for a different buyer. Unbelievably he used photos and descriptions from the previous July inspection and did not accurately portray the current condition of the home. In fact he stated that repairs were recommended and they had already been completed. This was not just one item, but several. This is a concern for both buyers and sellers and reflects upon the professionalism of the inspector. His reports are impressive in volume but when they are totally inaccurate it doesn’t really matter how pretty and detailed they are.

  I have experienced lots of buyer home inspections in my time. I can you tell that Matt's work was by far the most professional and comprehensive of all of them. His use of the latest technology for evaluations, reporting and communicating is simply outstanding. He was always available to take my calls before and after the inspection. He represents great value for money if you need a home inspection. Hire him!

  Matts professionalism and work is to be commended not only did he take his time to explain items of concerns he came across while in the process he also made sure to put the details in his report to reflect his concerns. Highly recommend. Had to do a follow up insecption after I had repairs completed and Matt was able to help point out the issues in time to hopefully correct.
